Malteurop in Geelong,VIC goes for another Big Brute

The world's leading malt producer with malting sites in 14 countries right across the globe, Malteurop in Geelong, has purchased another Big Brute Industrial Vacuum Cleaner. The malting plant located in Victoria has a malting capacity of 78,000 tonnes of barley (that's alot of beer!).

Malting is an integral part of brewing beer. The malting process involves soaking the barley in water, allowing the barley to germinate and then stopping the germination with heat. This allows the barley to release fermented sugars which is part of the brewing process.

With such a large operation involved with the Australian site supplying both the domestic Australian market and also the Asian export market, there is a massive amount of grain involved at the site in Victoria.

Previously they were using a combination of shovels and brooms to clean up any barley which was spilt onto the ground and were after a more time effective and safe way of cleaning up.

After getting in contact with us back in 2012 and listening to how they would like to clean up, we supplied a modified Big Brute Leapfrog with a galvanised forklift easy emptying option.

The option we recommended was the Big Brute Leapfrog sitting ontop of our Suck & Dump Forklift Trolley which was specifically modified for the malting company. Malteurop were after an extremely heavy duty galvanised forklift emptying option that involved a 200mm wide bottom discharge trap door.

This allows the operator to empty the machine once it is full easily into another vessel or skip bin simplying by using a forklift with no heavy lifting or work involved. Having the forklift option meant that they could reuse the spilt grain in their malting process and not cross contaminate with other varities and grades of barley.

Previously the clean up was done by several people using valuable time but now the clean up process is only done by one person with the Big Brute Industrial Vacuum Cleaner.

After being so impressed with the unit, the Company came back and ordered another identical Big Brute Industrial Vacuum Cleaner unit so they could have two forklift cleaning set ups in use around their malting facility.

Big Brute Industrial Vacuum Cleaners are now part of the entire process of manufacturing beer. Firstly used by countless grain growers right throughout the cereal growing districts to produce the barley, then part of the grain receival/distribution network and now the malting process. With Big Brute UK manufacturing a modified Big Brute Industrial Vacuum Cleaner for use at the Guinness factory in Dublin, Ireland we're sure there are other Big Brutes in use at breweries right across the globe supplied by the Big Brute Industrial Vacuum Cleaner worldwide network.
