The Saipem Leighton Consortium complex at Henderson, Western Australia, has just taken delivery of two Big Brute Wet & Dry Big Industrial Vacuum Cleaners for cleaning concrete caissons.

Tom Landsborough, the Plant Superintendent, said "we have 56 caissons to build for Gorgon as part of the North West Shelf Gas Project and we need to build them on time."

Joe Strangio, The Concrete Supervisor, said "I've trialed other vacuums that just did not cut it in the fine cement dust environment." He contacted us to ask for a hands-on onsite demonstration of the Big Brutes.

After seeing the Big Brutes suck water from a 2.5m deep pit at the rate of one gallon a second, Joe suggested trying the Big Brute on fine concrete dust that had been ground off the caissons prior to placing the next layer of concrete on.

After trialing the Big Brute for twelve weeks at the Leighton Complex, Tom and Joe placed an order for 2 Big Brute Wet & Dry Industrial Vacuum Cleaners.

With an extensive amount of large projects having to be built due to the resources boom, the Leighton Complex working environment is a typical worksite in Western Australia and they need reliable plant to operate in it.
